Howard, this is what my mechanic said but you explained it much better. Yes, my car is a 22nd series. If anyone is interested this appears to be a good safety option for our cars.

Guys, I did order a third brake light from J and L. I ordered it Friday afternoon and it was here on Wednesday by priority mail. It is installed, 6 volt car. I ordered the type that is supposed to show a brake light and then flash left or right when turning. Mechanic said he could not get it to do both but at least I have additional brake light for safety.

Fred, finding a mechanic who doesn't need a computer to diagnose a car. That is a problem in my neck of the woods. After studying Packardinfo for hours and printing out a very detailed book of information on my car, they still will not read it. I also gave them the web page information. This is my regular shop so I am not going to give up on them yet. I will see how the next visit goes.

Tim, I have a 1948 Packard all original with 16 thousand original miles. It has been checked and needed repairs made and service work done by a professional mechanic. Do you feel this car is not road worthy.?

I just found my build sheet or what was left of it. It was on top of the glove box as has been reported here. I reached in there and first I found just a corner piece still attached with yellowed masking tape. I was so disappointed but kept feeling around and found the top strip still attached with masking tape. It reads 2262 H 22820 EMC OD WSW FSE SW 66..
O K is marked in red. Does anyone know what WSW FSE SW 66 stand for? THANKS

While we are talking about CCC, his storefront is not that fancy in relation to the price of cars he handles, Ferrari for instance, just a metal building. Now the guy from Canada really has a fancy location and repair facility. It looks like a Rolls or Mercedes dealership. I really like Wheeler Dealers, it can be funny and informative. If I could just understand the mechanic's accent. I am waiting for a show about a Packard .

Can you tell us more about the distributor being set on a machine and the settings that were used? I think I need this done also. I read that settings maybe different from Packard settings due to modern gas we are using.
