Good afternoon...The Ultramatic might well help the price with folks starting out in the hobby, as the percentage of folks who can drive a manual transmission is reported as less than 10 percent'1

Re: Seat Belts in a '50 Eight Sedan

Good afternoon, we installed lap belts in our 49 Deluxe and just put the straps down between the seat bottom and the seat back. We drilled through the pan with 1/8 inch pilot holes after taking some measurements to be sure we cleared he frame and then drilled larger 5/8 holes and anchored the ends of the seat belts with 1 1/2 inch washers from ACE Hardware...not hard, just measure carefully so that the belts are uniform left to right and the bolts miss the frame. Good afternoon...The other day a friend asked me 'How many Packards were built' and I told him I did not know, but thought I knew where to ask! Does anyone have the figure?

Wow, I don't know what the connection to Jim would be, but the poor Packard looks like it had a rough ride and was put away wet, a long time ago...A good bit of work to put her back on the road. Ernie in Arizona

Normally, I can find OO size battery cables at Napa and also the terminals that can be soldered on. OO cables work great. All your connections should be clean and snug and your six volt system will work just fine. Ernie in Arizona
