Door stop detent

Do 1956 Packards have a detent door stop to hold door open. I have the stop which limits how far door can open. But I see no way or part that would hold door from closing when open. New cars have two places where door is sort of held open. My 57 has a stop that provides a little resistance to closing when open all the way. Check door part 424704 30.440

Glad this project is in capable hands like the idea of Jag engine. Have seen many stock appearing old cars with newer engines . The Jag engine presents itself well. Should make nice driving and sounding car. From your past work I know it will be done in a style and complete documentation Mark and his wife made a good choice in you to complete his dream

I would file claim with my insurance company . That way your car will get repaired faster and your company will deal with other company taking you out of process. The companies have lawyers to deal with these matters. Most antique insurance companies strive to do good work and to satisfy customers. In related matter took a friend of mine over a year to get his early Corvette repaired after a person went threw stop sign hitting him Good Luck

We tend to forget that cars of 50s and 60s were used in all type of weather. They were designed and built to be used as daily transportation. Every once in while in winter I like to take old car for drive they seem to run better when its cold outside. Hard part is finding day when its cold and salt has not been put on roads

fitting for carb inlethttps://www.carburetor-parts.com/fitting-90-43-1) Can't understand fuel system on Packard and Chevy same fuel tank metal line to fuel pump metal line to Rochester or Carter carb. On most cars of this time period pretty easy to redo entire system except for tank which is a little pricey
