Is it just my impression but the two videos posted of this car the lifters seem too noisy? See below on youtube:

There is no quick fix with ULTRAMATIC I know I have had three in my car (Including one rebuilt by a Packard expert, not Ross) before I gave up and had a Bendtsens transmission conversion kit for a 700R auto. Now if your making this vehicle into a show car then I would not advise this change but if you intend to drive it then I would.

1955 Packard has GPS problems

I recently installed an aftermarket electric outlet in my car so I could run my GPS which I have come to depend on when going to unfamiliar places. After a few months of working just fine, when I plug it in it powers the unit up but the satellites it used for guidance shut down-the minute I unplug it the satellites go back on but then I run the risk of the unit shutting down for lack of power. I ran the hot wire to the floor, the ground wire to the fuse box since on the 55 the ground is reversed (positive ground instead of negative ground). Has anyone had similar problems?

Wonder what the cost is gonna be for say a 1934 Super 8? Why when you click on the post it sends you to a wordpress website with literally no information?

1955 Packard 400 front and rear windshield chrome moldings

I was wondering I selected a body and paint shop to re-do my car and of course I could save a great deal of money if I could get as much chrome trim of the car as possible. How do the chrome moldings around the front windshield and rear back-light come off? I know the ones on the front doors are held in place by clips-but how would I get the other ones off?

Well I was lucky the minute I stuck my head under the dashboard (nearly getting it wedged in there!!!!!!!) I saw the problem the clamp that held the cable to the plenum had come loose so there was no tension on the cable when switching it from defroster to heat. All i did was affix the cable to the clamp tighten the screw and I was good to go took me like 5 min. By the way thank you HH56 your diagram of the plenum showed me exactly where the problem was!
