That's a Super 8 dash alright, now if the distributor is on top of the motor instead of the side you would have the correct style motor too.

Well, as long as the electrical output is the same I should have no problems!

Thanks Owen, I just wonder since it's true then why have 2 different model numbers for the same generator? There must be a reason.

I would think an air-conditioning unit would really tax the 6 cylinder motor.

Both Generators correct?

Just wondered if this is correct........... I looked up (for a 1939 Super 8) part numbers for my Auto-Lite generator and it shows; part number 239537 / application 1703-3A-5/ note GCO 4803A AND GCO 4807A. Does this mean the car came with either an 03A or an 07A and are they pretty much identical and also you use the same Voltage Regulator for both?

Thanks,

Steve

Would it fit your trunk, and hook it up to engine vacuum?

Owen, you are most certainly correct in your assumption, I do have a healthy engine, rewired (with correct gauge wire) and good connections - I forgot to mention I also had the 6 volt starter modified for 4.5 volts for 33% faster spin. I have to make sure she starts first time, every time because you don't want my wife to be riding with you when you can't get it started. Believe Me!!!
