Yes, Ernie and Howard are correct, sorry I forgot to mention that you could put your finger over the spark plug hole and while cranking it over, your finger should feel the compression and you should see the spark plug fire. Quick and easy way to check wires are correct and timing. Best to do with all eight cylinders.

Remove all of the plugs and crank it over, it should turn over faster and you can check to see if all of the plugs are firing. As Rusty you need Spark, Fuel and Compression. 75 to 80 should be good enough, now check for Spark.

Well I'm almost ready to put this post to rest. I tried to go the cheap route and use a hose clamp, at the end of the shaft were the flex line connects, but no matter hold much I tightened it, it kept slipping. So I did the same thing Howard did with the two half clamps, got them from Amazon (Climax Metal 2C-031 Steel Two-Piece Clamping Collar, Black Oxide Plating, 5/16" Bore Size, 11/16" OD, With 4-40 x 3/8 Set Screw) works great. just a few more things to do and I can call it done.

If you have enough of the stud sticking out, and you don't have access to a welder Maybe friend?) then switch to a small pipe wrench if you have the room. I find pipe wrenches work better then vice grips.

If you got enough of the stub still sticking out. You can weld a nut onto it. Best to post a picture and I'm sure you will finally get a correct way to do it.

Sorry I can't be sure for you, but my 47 used a 1 1/4 and I had to shave the sides down so it would fit inside the yoke.

Hi Howard, a couple more pictures, one of the screw and the other with the screw in-place to be screwed in.
True Value has a collection of screws in the gray (or some color, different colors different kinds of screws) trays that you can buy separate would be a good place to look.

I was at work, FedEx and using FireFox.
FedEx was blocking them for some reason.
Now that I'm at home using my iMac with Safari, I can view all the pages.
