Mike, my 51 Packard has 15 inch wheels, but could be different for ambulances. Don't know if this will help.

Sounds great. I bet that it will surely turn heads over there then. Even when I was hauling mine home on a trailer it attracted a crowd and where it sits now it has had many visitors my mechanic said. Even here you don't see very many of them. Southwest Missouri seems to be a Chevy, Ford place, because even my 68 Chrysler is not a common car here.

Sounds like quite a project, but one that is well worth it. I have a garage, but because of where the door is I cannot fit a large car in it. I am working on a solution for it, but none as of yet. I used to live in New England, so I know how cold the winters are there, so the insulation will be a blessing.

Thanks for the encouragement. It does seem to be all there, chrome and all and very straight with only minor damage to a taillight. I found this car quite by accident and wasn't even looking, but a friend who just restored a 49 came acrossed it and new that 51 was the year I always wanted. I came home from the hospital in 1966 in a 51 Packard and my father and mother always said it was their most favorite car they have ever had. This is as much for them as me, but I havent told them yet about it. I want to suprise them.
