I have taken my car for the first couple
Of drives and after resolving the sticking accelerator pedal it has been very rewarding to take it out.

The car is now at the upholsterer to get top to bottom
Interior work done.

I gave them the seats and broadcloth awhile back and was able
To See the front seat today and it looks amazing!

I stopped by the upholstery shop to drop parts off and what a treat - To say this upholsterer is a master of his craft and an artist I believe to be quite appropriate

Hi Paul, Thank you, I sincerely appreciate the kind words. I was just informed that the interior is complete and I am excited to get the car back and begin enjoying it!

All the best!

I'm lapping the valves due to a leak down test that showed an issue with the exhaust valves. I just did the first valve and am wondering what the grey area is in the seating surface - I didn't think this needed to be lapped more But wanted to ask first

So instead of trying to revive the tired original engine I bought another 288 for less than I would have paid for new pistons and rings. Pre-purchase of the new to me engine I was allowed to remove the head the cylinders are beautiful, original pistons (std stamp), and water jacket is very clean

It does have some leak down from the exhaust so I set out to learn how to resurface the seats. I practiced on the tired engine today, unfortunately due to covid-19 we've been ordered to stay at home for all nonessential's so I had to come up with some alternatives for Prussian blue pencil which I can't seem to find - here are my results.
