I learned how to hotwire my parents 1952 Mayfair when I was 14 and taught myself how to drive. Packards have been in my blood ever since.

After looking at some other materials I'm inclined to agree that, in the pure sense, a 23rd series car titled as 1949 is certainly the golden anniversary Packard. However, the advertising campaign ran into the 1950 title season. I think as sales turned down they stopped the golden anniversary stuff. Without a corporate memo the issue is a gray area.
