Tom: After seeing the video and pictures you posted, I am like Mal VERY IMPRESSED. I might ad that the body work you did on your 31 looks first class. What is the name of the color you painted the car. I like your choice of the paint color.

Tom,

Congratulations! Great work (esp for 1st effort)

I could see your reflection waving in the video. Very impressive.

What a beautiful era to preserve.

The brand of paint is
Pro-spray (Single Stage)
Code #852
Red Mahogany

This is the chart I pick my color from.
"PPG 73111 Red Mahogany"

Thanks all for the encouraging words. Now hopefully I will have it running by this time next year.

Here she is in Red Mahogany and Black. Went and hung the passenger door last night (Had issues with this door even before I started the restoration) where it rubs on the lower right of the door on the sill. Did the best I can to tweak it. Also the gaps aren't the best either on the door. Have some paint chip off on the hinges nothing that a little artist touch up brush can't fix

Tom, it looks really good. You have come light years ahead in your project since I last saw it in person in October!

Kev,

Thanks. That was my goal this year was to get the shell painted during the warmer months and during the colder parts of the year I could at least do the rest of the restoration. Reassemble the engine, install new wood for the passenger compartment etc...

Once I get the car up and running I can pull it out of garage so I can go to town on the large fenders.

Did you do all the spraying with the GFG-670 Delivbiss Gun?

BigKev,

Yes I used it for the base coat. Last year had trouble with orange peel so BarryK owner of SPI said to call him when I was ready to spray color and he would walk me through setting up the gun. What a world of difference. Still have some slight orange peel but nothing compared to what I sprayed last year.

I am debating on wet sanding anything anymore because yesterday I was wetting sanding the cowl and broke through in spots so now I am hesitant on doing the rest of the body. I may just hit it with 1500/2000 just to knock out some the trash and then buff.
