Trippe lights

I have a problem assembling my Trippe lights, took them apart to change the bulbs (no problem) but is there a trick putting them back together? The 2 posts on top of the ring, are they used with pliers to pinch together to set the ring in? Or do you push one side in first and then the other? It seems the ring has to start being inserted at the bottom - but I don't want to do it wrong with too much pressure and crack the lens.
Thanks,

Steve

Just do the reverse of what you've already done to remove the locking ring to change the bulb. Insert the ring at the bottom under the clip, squeeze the ring together at the top using the two pins, insert within the perimeter of the shell and then release the pins.

As you already have it apart, hold the lens in your hand and take a look at the lens while you do a trial fit with the locking ring and you'll see there is plenty of relief in edge of the lens to allow the ring to be completely compressed closed without stressing the glass.
