General Information: |
The Clipper have a grille with full-width curved
center bar; new hood ornaments; wraparound
backlights on all cars; and noticeable trim
revisions. The Clipper Special was most like the
old styles as plain, rounded rear fenders were
retained. A straight chrome molding with barbed
tip sat high on the front fenders and doors. A
second straight molding was set lower on the
rear tenders and back door of the touring sedan.
Jet plane hood ornaments and plain cloth
interiors appeared. The basic Packard equipment
assortment included twin horns; twin visors and
wipers; horn ring; front and back bumper
guards; jack and tools. The Clipper Special added
turn signals, glove box light and clock to the list.
The Clipper Deluxe have the front and rear body
side moldings linked via a staggered chrome
plate. It was actually part of one long, continuous
arrangement of chrome strips. The Deluxe had
all the same features found on Clipper Specials
plus chrome wheel trim rings and fin-shaped
rear fender top chrome blades. |
