General Information:

Engineering changes were minimal. But there were many appearance changes. The Split-vee windshield came with a chrome center strip. Fenders were pontoon, enveloping the sidemount on those cars carrying same. The radiator cap was pressurized, its filler moved under the hood. Super Eight standard equipment continued to include an electric clock and cigar lighter, and package purchases of the "Custom Accessory Group" or "DeLuxe Accessory Group" added further luxuries. Whitewall tires were $17.50 for a set of five, $23.50 for six and the accessory catalog offered a new item called a "Guest Speaker" to be mounted in the center of the driver's seat back. Wheelbases remained the same, though model numbers were 1603 (the former 1500), 1604 (the former 1501) and 1605 (the former 1502) now that the Junior Packards were part of the standard company numbering code.
