View of workers inspecting plane propeller shaft of Packard Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine on a Magnaflux machine. Label on back: "The plane propeller shaft of the Rolls engine is tested on this special Magnaflux machine. The part is magnetized by electric current and a liquid containing iron filings is poured over it. The pattern formed by the attracted metal filings discloses any defect in the finished part."
