It is one of two Dietrich V-windshield convertible victorias built. The other is a 1934 model that was also fitted with LeBaron-style pontoon fenders.

This photo is from when Robert T. DeForest of Darien Connecticut owned the car the license plate was either DOZN or the later TWIN 6. He purchased it in 1962/1963. It was black with terrible chrome. Within a year of buying he restored it in the mid-1960s, Don Leffert's in Ridgfield CT did the paint, chrome, interior & added the 2nd spare He drove & showed the car extensively from 1966/1967 to 1979. It is on page 367 of the Automobile Quarterly Packard book published in 1978. in 1979 he sold it to John Wheatley & received a 1933 Twelve Coupe Roadster as partial trade, I inherited the 1933 which I sold in 2017 after having 1 too many close calls with inattentive drivers.

The Twin Six was purchased by a collector in Atlanta who repainted it white & dark green & showed it at the Packard Centennial in Warren Ohio.

I lost track of the car until Jonathan Sieerakowski at RM contacted me in 2015 requesting any and all information on the car for its extensive restoration Which was scheduled to take 3 years & actually took 2.After 32 years of searching, the Twin Six found me! It had been in storage in Reno Nevada for 16/17 years before RM contacted me.

I was reunited with the car on Ocean Avenue in Carmel when "Chip" Connors drove the car on the Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance on Thursday. It was an emotional reunion for me. I attended the Concours on Sunday & spent a good deal of time with the car, of course.

As many here know, it won its class & was in contention for Best Of Show, which was won by the big Mercedes that year.

Needless to say, this Packard & I go back a ways. I remember well going out for ice cream & attending shows with my grandparents regularly. I was 11 when then car was sold & 49 when we were reunited. I still thing my grandfather's livery was the pinnacle look for what we affectionately call The Twin Six.
