This car came into Australia as LHD in about 1985, with about 35,000 miles original. Due to State laws it was not able to be road registered. In about 1995 the car was converted to RHD and was road registered. it now has about47,000 miles recorded and is totally original paint and trim. I have had some problems with unsatisfactory gearbox overhaul. but it has every factory option and is very smooth and powerful.

Re: 1956 Packard Patrician, Right hand Drive
Interesting comment! I did not carry out the conversion. I have had a look at the set-up and it appears to be a mid Seventies Ford Fairlane power steering box, with the original Packard pump. The Ford box is from a shorter wheelbase car and has a slightly larger turning circle than a LHD 56 Patrician. The box bolts to the frmae and there isn't much clearance for the Bendix Power Brake unit. I have had to raise the steering column as it was set too low compared to the original. other than that it appears to work well.
