8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1948 Packard right side view, parked on street in front of house. Inscribed on photo back; 1948 Packard eight deluxe, twenty-second series, model 2211, 8-cylinder, 130-horsepower, 120-inch wheelbase, 6-person club sedan (body type #2265), prototype, note no hood ornament, painted headlight rings, no horizontal trim, Packard archives indicate facelift for Clipper was originally planned for twenty-first series, by 1942 the heavier front end and hidden headlights had appeared on a front end only facelift, this evolved to a more streamlined look with unhidden headlamps by 1944, in 1945 artists retouched a photo of a production 1942 Clipper, using the proposed new lines, around the same time the more elaborate custom eight grille works was emerging, finally came the production prototypes, with completely altered fuselage and flow through fenders. 1956 Caribbean convertible, a one-owner car, which had been purchased from Bell Motor Sales of Sharon, PA by the late Ted Hirt of Warren, OH. The car was restored several years ago and appears in video footage of the parade of Packards, with Mr. Hirt at the wheel, that was held during the 1999 Centennial meet. |

this is a photo of a car in Lewistown MT. I think that it is a 526-308 model. It is originally from California, and sold by the Earle C. Anthony dealership. It is presently in dry storage and the owner is starting restoration. |
