| Franay of France did a number of bodies on Packard chassis in the late 30s, several of them are pictured in Hugo Pfau's nice book. This lovely one-off had an interesting history, ordered originally by a French aristocrat and taken over by the Nazis after the fall of France, and used by the Military Governor of Paris as a staff car. When the Germans fled, the car was picked up, repainted in US olive drab, and used by the US armed forces. It suffered a serious accident and was bought and returned to the States in 1953 by a US military man and underwent a restoration about 20(?) years later. It was exhibited at Pebble Beach this year and pictured in the current (December 08) issue of Car Collector magazine. Current owner is in New Jersey. 8x10 black and white print copied from a glass negative of a 1912 Packard 6 left side, top lowered, two-toned. Inscribed on photo back; 6-cylinder, 48-horsepower, 139-inch wheelbase, phaeton, with standard top, & Packard storm-tilt windshield.

8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1958 Packard front view. Photo caption on back from Packard Public Relations Dept.: A look of motion is imparted to the new 1958 Packard 4-door sedan by the sleek lines of the forward sloping hood with its crowning airscoop, dual headlamps are standard on the sedan, 2-door hardtop, and 4-door station wagon, these are housed in distinctive jet type nacelles surmounted with slim fender ornaments, directional lights are mounted above the massive wrap around bumper in the slender, graceful grille section, flightomatic transmission and power brakes are standard equipment on all Packards.
