8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1948 Packard nine-tenths right side view, female behind wheel, male passenger, parked in field near family with horses. Photo caption on back from Packard News Service the all new 1948 Packard station sedan, with new 'free flow' styling and a new 130-horsepower straight eight engine, is the first such vehicle in the industry to have an all steel body and an all steel top, socially acceptable anywhere, as well as utilitarian, the station sedan has four doors and two full size seats of welded steel tube construction, fine grained hardwood decorates the exterior of the doors, window panels and tail-gate, Packard engineers say the station sedan is a free of rattles as any other closed car.
