8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1948 Packard three-quarter rear view, rear doors open, two women loading bushels of vegetables into back. Photo caption on back from Packard News Service :1948 Packard, engineered and tooled at a cost of approximately $1,000,000, the all new 1948 station sedan has an amazing amount of cargo space, as well as two seats for six persons, even with the rear seat in use, the station sedan has 21 cubic feet of luggage room, the rear seat virtually 'disappears' into the plywood floor, leaving nearly nine feet of cargo space from the back of the front seat to the end of the opened tail-gate, which forms an extension of the floor, under floor concealment of the spare tire leaves even additional usable space.
