Col. Sidney D. Waldon testing a 1907 Packard with several (un-named) engineers. It comes from the Detroit News when they received some original photos from the PMCC in 1934. Sidney Waldon was a Vice President at Packard and some believe that he began the use of the ?Checked Flag? to signal the finish of an automobile race.

8x10 black and white Packard Co. file photograph of a 1907 Packard 30 Model U parked on road, decorated with eight small American flags, painted on hood '500,000 miles 1907 Packard.' Inscribed on photo back; 4-cylinder, 30-horsepower, 108-inch wheelbase, 2-person special runabout body, windshield, motometer, special drum type electric head lamps, 1937 Ohio license plate #3049, spare tire carried at rear, April 4th, 1938; Inner Circle article attached.
