"The tire size is 205/75/R15."
This may be part of your problem. A smaller diameter tire will cause the car to move slower at any given engine speed in high gear. A typical 205 75 R 15 passenger car tire will have a nominal diameter of 27". A tire similar to what came on your car would be a 6.50 X 16 bias ply with a diameter of around 29.5". A 7.00 X 16 tire of similar construction would have a diameter of about 31". The larger diameter tire will roll farther with each turn of the rear wheels, allowing the car to go faster at any given engine speed. I'm pretty sure your car came with 16" wheels. If it did originally have 15" wheels, the same math applies. A 7.10 X 15 tire of the correct type for a 1941 Packard would have a diameter around 30". I suggest finding out exactly what wheel size your car originally was equipped with, and what tire sizes were standard. Detailed information relating to original equipment is available on this website in the Literature Archive. Your car will ride and handle very well with original-type and size tires, and if your car has the standard axle ratio, you may find that you don't need to make any changes other than installing correct-size wheels and tires. That said, the overdrive is a wonderful adjunct to any car, and is especially nice to have on pre-WWII cars. If I owned your car, I'd want the correct wheels, tires AND the overdrive.

I've been told by others that live down under that the Australian Border folks are very aggressive in looking for asbestos in imported vintage cars. Even to the extent of disassembling the brake system, and other areas of the car, to look for it. Are you expecting this to happen to your Patrician when it arrives?

Riki, Pinout is the same but I don't know if the relay would work because of one definite statement on the info sheet where it says power must be present on pin 30 for the relay to cycle. We use a ground at that terminal. With the statement and wording I suspect they are taking a constant power for the timer electronics from that terminal and pin 86 just needs a momentary signal. Would almost need to test a relay to see what or how it does.
There is a similar pin description but not the same must have or it won't work statement for the relay I used. I can confirm the Amazon relays do operate the solenoids on the bench but cannot confirm any extraneous noise found in the car would not affect the relay operation. Since the Amazon relays claim to be automotive relays would doubt that would be an issue but since modern cars are much better shielded than 70 year old Packards that still needs to be confirmed. Another question needing an answer would be the dimensions since it cannot be any larger than what I measured on the Amazon relay to have two relays fit in the box. Price wise if they would work, instead of $22 for a pair it would be about $54 for the pair. Might be worth it for the adjustable feature to get the factory spec and to have German made quality instead of Chinese made.

Maybe find out in some Chevy literature or reviews if the switch functions as you want. If so perhaps you could 3D print a new rounded handle end and drill it out so it would slide over the existing to make it look more like the Packard switch. Being under the dash edge is the switch visible?

I'm still on the search for that map/reading light switch.
I found this similar switch. But doesn't look the same. Chevy Switch Which is a Delco 1404. Not sure who made it or what markings are on the original switch.

I vaguely recall seeing an o/d unit for a 110 for sale somewhere recently - as in, in the last several weeks. Now if I could only remember where.
I'll agree that an o/d unit will help save on engine wear, but Packards guzzle fuel. It was one of the customer bitches for years.
