For that price, it looks like a great parts car for someone close enough to go get it themselves!

Question: did all '55 Patricians have torsion level, or was it still an option on even the top of the line Packards?

58L8134, thank you for the service you do for other folks on the forum by posting these links!!

However, as it is it would likely get scrapped or hot-rodded so I'm trying to make it mostly complete and driveable in order to give it a better chance to survive intact.

Amen! Not every old car is a viable "full" restoration candidate these days with the sky high cost of parts and labor. But as you say, you are giving this car a high likelihood of survival, and that's what is important.

To me at least, it's more fun to have a car that's not perfect but can be driven and enjoyed, versus a car that is so perfect that it just sits covered up in the garage.

Keep saving them Don!

Second the last comment on SMS. The door panels for my '62 Bonneville took 13 months and then arrived in the wrong color. When I called about it, I was advised to "use them anyway." Fortunately, my upholsterer was able to dye them in the proper color.

"Use them anyway"?? SMS does not sound like a very customer-sensitive bunch.

Odd 1953 Mayfair with 1954 Caribbean trim, taillights and hood with a supercharged Packard V8 under the hood (on AutoTrader):

Wow, in good tune and with the 3 speed/OD, that might surprise a few cars moving out from a stoplight (if it has a decently low rear axle ratio to go along with that OD). Note the old school Sun tach drive box on the firewall.

Add doesn't say what size engine, but a 374 would be great . This car would be a really fun driver I bet.
