thank you for your help, we found the proper mounting bracket, it was miss marked. and now is installed and working well, except was wondering if there was a lens cover for the light? the parts book does not list one.

does anyone have a picture of the proper place for the reading light? our 1205 limo has components for it but I am not sure where it goes.

I did as you did, assembled them with no gasket at this time.
the project is coming along quite nicely. still waiting on window scrubs for the doors, then I can assemble them.
had trouble finding the rear window retainer ring. had to gently remove one from a parts car and in the process of repairing that at this time. so all the glass with be in.
repairing bad wood at the bottom where the running boards attach to the body. thats a job by its self.
waiting on the restored dash, so i can begin installing all of that. waiting on new steering wheel so i can finish the steering.

ok, sorry about the caps lock.
the part number listed for the gasket/seal came as an o-ring. I attempted to install it on the front outer edge of the reflector. I can get it to squeeze into the outer grove. but had to order new reflectors due to parts not available for the parking lamp for my reflector. the new reflector outer groove will not excpet this o-ring. but i do like the idea of a cork gasket there, should be able to get that to work.
thanks all

THE O-RING I AM REFERING TOO, IT 4.1322
BUT AS I LOOK AT THIS PHOTO, MY HEADLIGHT IS A BIT DIFFERANT. THE REFLECTOR HAS THREE CLIPS ON THE BACK SIDE THAT CLIP INTO THE MAIN HOUSING. THEN THE LENS AND BEZEL THAT ARE ASSEMBLED WITH 4 INSERT RETAINERS BETWEEN THE GLASS AND THE BEZEL. THEY CLIP AT THE TOP AND HOOK IN THE BOTTOM ADJUSTING SCREW. THIS SET UP LOOKS DIFFERANT THAN THAT. MAYBE I DON'T EVEN NEED THE O-RING.

I HAVE A PARTS BOOK, BUT THE ONE I HAVE DOES NOT SHOW VERY GOOD PICTURES LIKE THE LINK YOU SENT. I LOOKED IT OVER AND FOUND A CUT AWAY VIEW OF THE HEADLIGHT, BUT STILL HARD TO TELL HOW THE O-RING FITS IN. LOOKS TO ME LIKE BETWEEN THE REFLECTOR AND THE LENS. HAVE TO STUDY IT SOME MORE.
THANKS GUYS.

DOSE ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND AN EXPLODED VIEW OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A 1935 PACKARD. I HAVE AN LARGE O-RING WITH ALL THE PARTS FOR THE HEADLIGHT AND CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE IT GOES.

thanks for the link. I have considered this, but was advised against it, due to distortaion of the outside metal.
see the restoration details on a project attempted using wood repair products.
http://www.ccrutah.com/resclp01.html

although this stuff looks pretty good. but unfortunalty, on the left side of this project, most of the wood is beyond repair. the right side maybe. but since i have to replace the complete left side. might just do the same on the right. more research is needed.

EUREKA!!! I found a set of brackets for a reasonable price.
thanks all for you help on this. now all i need is the side mounts. and yes the fenders have wells, and a hole in the fender where they come up though. i have the covers and clamps for it. just can't find what the owner did with them.

I do no know where this car came from. I will post the serial number later, maybe that will help with some history.
the family who ones it might know. as the guy who bought this is now in packard heaven. so i cannot ask him. but maybe his wife will know. i will post what i find.
thanks all again.
