Steve,
Sorry I missed your call today. I have both the bushing and brushes in stock. Give me a shout tomorrow, I'd be happy to get them in the mail to you. Thanks, Jason

I may have an NOS advance available, but they are higher priced than rebuilds and as mentioned, the life may be shortened because of the dried out diaphragm. Although to be honest, I've sold a lot of NOS vacuum advances and had very little problems. If it was my car, I'd rebuild my original advance which is another service I can offer you. The cost would be $75 plus shipping back to you. Let me know of I can help you in any way.

Yes, Check that everything moves easily with the advance disconnected. Seems odd that you'd have several fail that quickly without something else going on, but I suppose anything is possible. I've never been able to confirm this, but I've always heard that the NOS Autolites are more prone to fail than the NOS Delcos. Rumor is that the Autolite used a slightly different material. I've sold many NOS Delco advances and have not had any fail. Haven't sold as many NOS Autolites. Best bet, get yours rebuilt. Let me know if you need help.

It's easier to install with it in the retracted position, but usually isn't a problem engaged as yours is either. The best way to get it to dis-engage is to run it in the over-running (ratcheting) direction on a wire wheel. Once your engines starts it will over run the drive and the speed of the starter and the drive will dis-engage all by itself. The guys above were correct in saying install it, you'll be fine, I just thought I'd give a little detail in how it works.

Yes, they are in stock. I have two options, NOS Delco coils and new aftermarket coils. The NOS Delco set is $79 plus shipping and the new aftermarket set is $59 plus shipping. In my opinion there is no advantage to the NOS set versus the aftermarket. I carry them because some people think they need NOS everything. Some NOS items are worth it and some are not, I feel these have nothing over the aftermarkets. Let me know what your thoughts are.
Thanks, Jason

Yes, they are available and I should have them in stock. The 9205 covers a few different Delco generator numbers, so I have to check and make sure they all use the same field coil set. I'll double check that and get back to you.
Thanks, Jason

I thought the same thing at first, but then he stated that I didn't return two of his emails. I'm just trying to figure out if something went wrong on my end, nothing more. No offense or hard feelings from my direction. I just don't understand how I would've missed two emails.

Pat,
What's your email address? I know it doesn't matter at this point, but I would still like to see if I can find either of your emails in my inbox somewhere. Pretty rare (hopefully) that I would not respond to an email of anyone who is not trying to boost my internet search engine results! I searched for your name the other night and nothing came up, I'd like to try it by email address. I certainly apologize if it was an error on my part. -Jason Advanced Electrical Rebuilders jason@aerrebuild.com www.aerrebuild.com

As long as you have a 6 volt regulator, your system is protected. Your 6 volt regulator will keep the output voltage down, although you should have low output issues if it truly is a 12 volt unit. Getting the pulley off: Remove the 15/16" nut off the front, then very carefully! Pulleys love to get held on to the shaft with rust or corrosion and you have to be careful not to bend the pulley. There's also a key on the shaft, so you won't be able to twist/turn the pulley. Do you have a bearing separator puller? Hit armature shaft with RUBBER hammer. There's quite a few tricks, let me know if it gives you troubles. 1/3 brush wear in 1000 miles? Yikes! You might want to have the commutator (copper segments where the brushes ride) machined true and undercut at an auto electric shop. I can do this for you, but I'm sure there is someone within driving distance. Do some research to make sure the shop knows what they're doing. I know of so called "rebuilders" who have less equipment than most car owners. If you go to one, take along the field case. They should be able to check the amp draw of your field coils and confirm whether they're 6 or 12 volts. Send me a picture of your brushes and springs, I should have them. Good Luck, feel free to ask me any questions. -Jason Advanced Electrical Rebuilders Grand Ledge, MI www.aerrebuild.com jason@aerrebuild.com 1-866-228-0218

Check voltage at battery while not running should read 6.4 volts +/- a few tenths and should jump up to 7.5 volts or so once running/charging although any jump would indicate a charge of some sort.
