OK, I need some validation.
I created 2 wire lists. The first one (entitled 48 Packard 6V)shows every wire that has anything to do with the '48 Packard engine. The second one (entitled 48 Packard 12V Chevy 350)shows the '48 with the Chevy 350 wiring. I need to know if I show all of the wires correctly on the second one. Please take a good look and either let me know if I have it right, or what (if anything) I missed or need to change. Thank you so much!

A lot of great feedback. Thank you very much.
So here is the history: I built this person a new wire harness for his '48. After the harness was complete and delivered, he decided to go a total different route and install the Chevy 350. Because of this, many of the wires to the engine are either moved or eliminated altogether (still trying to figure that out... groan). Two of the wires I was going to completely eliminate are the 2 wires that go to the carb; not required on a Chevy 350. But the previous post makes total sense that I just bring these back to the dash where the button will be installed. Great help!

So we are going to get a bush-button switch. Which wire do I use for this? The one that goes to the Coil?

Just took the Ignition Switch out of my '48 and took it to a locksmith to get keys made. Once the keys were made, noticed that the switch only has on / off positions. If I turn the key to "on", how do I start the car? It doesn't have the modern day feature where you turn to on, then turn more to start.

Converting a '48 from 6V to 12V with a twist...

Working on a car where the owner wants to convert from 6V to 12V. But it is a bigger issue than that. He dropped a Chevy 350 into the car. This brings up a new issue. The '48 was Positive Ground. Can I keep it this way, or will it now need to be Negative Ground. If I need to convert to Negative Ground, what do I need to do so I don't 'fry' anything?

I didn't even think of that. Very simple!
The back of the lighter socket is a threaded post where the wire screws onto the post (a nut is built into the end of the wire somehow. But a ring terminal is a very simple, inexpensive alternative. Thank you so much! Been trying to figure this one out for a coiuplk weeks!

Have any of you mastered, or know how to re-create how to connect a new wire to the Cigar lighter? It is a threaded attachment. Can these attachments be purchased?
