How far are the two bolt holes in the fender flange from the outside edge of the fender?

Can anyone with a 1937 Junior car measure this for me? It sets the distance of the lower edge of the fender behind the tire.

Kev
I don't spend much time out at the shop anymore, but I plan on going out next week sometime and I could measure Pat's car. I'm not sure of what measurement you're looking for. Can you post a marked-up photo?

Matt, I answered your e mail .I did not know 1934 is unique. As I said when I get back to you with pictures and measurements BOB

Unique, only in where the faceplate trim goes, otherwise they're the same as 1933. That said, it is far more likely to find a set of 1934 covers than 1933.

I would suggest that before you spend a lot of time making a part, check out a few of the suppliers to make sure they haven't already tooled-up and make the part you need. Blevins in Michigan, or Twin Six in Oklahoma.

Twin Six has a website:https://www.packardtwelve.com/shop?category=Appointments

Blevins I think is only available in print catalog.

Maybe I can get the oil cap engraved with something Packard. Or find a larger Packard script I can attached the side of the air clearer "torpedo" that runs the length of the motor.

Packard wouldn't have done that, and in my opinion, any attempt at doing so would make it look cheesy.

Bill's Speedometer Shop can rebuild, using the aforementioned reproduction parts. Pat Mescher, owner, is a PackardInfo regular (PackardSixMan), and does great work.

I highly suggest you get it running before you market it. Values have steeply declined recently. Good photos showing the interior are VERY important in coming up with a suggested value. If it's done nicely and with correct materials, that would make it much more desirable. Also, photos of the engine compartment and trunk, please.

If it's not running, I'd say maybe $15,000 as it sits and without seeing a good interior. Less if the interior is vinyl or some other incorrect material.

If it's running (and not needing immediate attention), and with nice interior, I'd say maybe $25,000.

Seems your car was picked for parts already. Something to always consider when purchasing a non-complete vehicle. There's only so many made, then only so many survive, and survivors need parts and that limits the parts scene and causes what you have - a parts car. NOS has been depleted many decades.
Undecided, I suggest you take a critical look at it and decide if it's worth restoring or doing something else - sell, part out, custom, etc. before going forward. eg: graft in a modern dash, make the trim pieces, etc. Otherwise, they remain incomplete money and time pits not worth as much as you put in.
Pick projects carefully not on a whim/happenstance or because of a "deal". If one doesn't know why they buy before/what they're going to do with it/parts available/capable of, it's too late to walk away. Good luck.

Good grief. This is a hobby, and besides that, it goes without saying anymore that once you start restoring ANY car that's worth under $200,000 when finished that you'll have more into it than it's "worth." The value of restoring and enjoying old cars is not supposed to be measured in dollars.

Steve Babinsky also has a company that makes exhaust, and I think he even owns an all-original Sport Model.
