Just curious who uses what weight by region/season? Read some saying somewhere about using 20W50 or some such brew.

Been using 10W30 and have added a can of STP last time and probably will continue in Southern California in the 288.

My 50 is bone stock and never had a shield. The glass filter is in relative terms somewhat close to the exhaust but has never been a problem.

Oops! Sorry I already know the diff between custom, and standard. Just wondering if a 48 Standard will fit a 50 or if a 49 Custom will fit a 50 as it were. Not wondering if a Custom from a 50 would work on a 48 Standard just if same for same model is interchangable thru the years.

Are 48-49 and 50 grills truly identical? I always see them advertised on Ebay that way. Just curious....

BTW I had taken to finding the closest in the parts store and cutting in shorter with a tin snips. Diameter is possible but they closest is too tall.
