I used Potomac Packard for the Harness for my 51 "300". Top quality (6v) I dont remember the price. It was over 12 years ago. At the time I felt it was well worth the price.

I was extremly lucky in having the original Title.
and had many conversations with the 3rd owner. I am now the 4th. My car was purchaced new buy The Industrial designer Walter Kantack and his wife Lillian. The stock market crash killed the business. This car was kept at the summer home, so never saw snow till the second owner. Lillian kept the car till she went in a nursing home in 1971, 3rd owner bought it in 1976. and I bought "Lilly" in 2002

Hi Kevin, my car had a "Sticky" linkage as well. would not return to idle. I too had "movement" in one of the brackets.I replaced the rivets with bolts. Works fine now.

issues above 40 mph

Got the car out Finally yesterday. Started right up. ( Yeah I primed it. Fuel down the carb.) got on the road to go home and when she got to operating temp (I was doing about 52mph.) She started to hesitate/then surge back and forth. Trying to speed up it would, but didn't like it. On slowing down to 40mph it went back to the purring machine she always has been. I did screw up last fall and stored it with less than a full tank.(3/4). I think if I had water in the gas I would have issues all the time, not only above 40 mph. Maybe a partially clogged fuel Filter? or the fuel pump itself. Any ideas anyone? Brian

My guess would be a Du Pont. if it is it would be a very rare car. only 537 total cars. Expensive too.

I appreciate all the help, But any repairs are beyond me. Adding fluid is a nightmare, And checking fluid is a nightmare. I don't know of anyone in the Detroit area that can help. Didn't drive the car this year either, except in the spring. I don't know what the fluid level is. I know it is low.

My car is a late 51 Model "300", It originally had some kind of "Textured" dash only on the Passenger side starting about a couple inches to the left of the glove compartment to the far right hand side of the car. According to the Info I found, the "textured" dash started in 1952.
