Now that looks very promising. Will you make it to Switzerland end of May?

It was this thread where I posted the colored diagram.
Please feel free to put the file into the manuals section.

I have been tinkering with some more electric gremlins and stumbled upon my non working license plate light. Some previous owner bodger rammed a replacement socket into the socket (unfortunately I didn't take a picture), but the light was not working anyway. So I took it out and took care of it. Just a tiny little drainage hole blocked combined with no gaskets at all lead to a non functional license plate light.

Next step will be sheradizing the housing for a better future rust proofing and a lick of paint.

Thanks for all the input!
Funny thing to mention: The key I do have for the ignition is octogonal, therefore it is not a correct one?

Been at the locksmith, but to no avail ...
It is either risking the chrome bezel on the lock housing while trying to take out the lock cylinder or destroying the lock.
Since it is the cheaper method I choose the latter and will order some new locks and key blanks.

Clemens

Thank you for your reply Owen,

1. I tried to pick the locks but to no avail. Maybe the locksmith tomorrow knows his trade better than I do Resized Image

2. The patent plate is that square plate screwed to the top left side of the engine compartment? Just had a look there, no numbers on the back. Even if there were numbers the would have been of little or no use at all: the door locks on driver's and passenger's side are clearly different, so maybe one or both of them have been replaced before.

3. PM sent ...

Process on my clipper is slow but there is progress ... (spring is faster though)

Since the car came without keys (just one that fits ignition) I took out the door and trunk locks to get my locksmith code some new keys.

Question is: How to get the locks out of there respective housing without the keys?

I never ever get seasick, but seeing this gives me a sick feeling ...
When my packard was shipped to Germany (in a container), the ship had to make a big detour to get around a severe storm. I was very mad at that time, now I can understand it way better.

Still, this seems a rather small ship compared to a Panamax which brought my car safe and sound.

Stormy Regards,
Clemens

Hello smashburn,
excuse me for being curious, but why is that radiator unrepairable?
What is the reason for that?

If the guy at the repairshop says unrepairable it usually means something like "I dunno", " I don't wanna do it". "not enough money in it".

So far I always opted for recoring and refurbishing and never had problems with cooling on my old cars. Radiator No. 5 is on its way ...

Recored Regards,
Clemens
