Re: trim molding clips - ID and Source

Hi Trace:http://www.restorationspecialties.com/
Here's a link to everything that you didn't know you needed until you bought a Packard.
The Catalog is $5.00 w/o an order or free if you order parts. The catalog is also better then the website in descriptions and pictures. Most of the MANY springs and clips that are shown are "actual size" for ease of making sure it's what you need. Hope this helps.

Regards
Steve F.

I remember the late 1960's TV advertisement by Earl Scheib: "I'LL PAINT ANY CAR ANY COLOR FOR ONLY $29.95"

I'll bet the prior owner got a "good deal" on the auto upholstery.

interesting, but, be careful of "easy install" and "universal" claims.

Do what you need to do to make the car as reliable and safe as possible without making hard to repair changes (if possible). Save all the old parts to put back on if needed to sell the car or return the car to the desired "when you acquired it status". If you're going to drive the car there's not much you can do for safety's sake that you'll get dinged for, but some changes will be of a semi-permanent nature; ie., seat belts, turn signals, etc. I'm sure you will get lots of help and advice as more folks join the forum today. By the way, beautiful, beautiful car.

Re: Brake and Clutch pedal "Thump"

Steve
I'm not sure but letting the pedal pop up might lead to a rapid release/engagement of the brakes and clutch causing a thump that might be absorbed if the pedals are gradually released. Is there any particular reason the pedals need to be uncontrollably released in this manner, it's not usually done like that, is it?
