What is the convertible lurking in the shadows of the LeBaron? My instincts say 1941 "C" brand (for fear of crashing this site).

Thanks Mal! Always enjoy reading your posts. I was thinking of you and your hood mishap when speaking with the seller of this car. He was intrigued at how you can open the hood from both sides so easily. I inquired if it was locked down and he had no idea what I was talking about. At that point I alerted him to the inevitable outcome that would happen if he continued lifting the hood. As a side note I admittedly did it myself on the '49 sedan I use to have, though my experience with it falling ended better.
While sorting through and re-boxing parts last night I came across these. I got a chuckle on some commentary and non-PC verbiage. I thought perhaps some members of the Motor City Region may remember this event. Mike So I just tried rotating these by rotating the source images to no avail... sorry in advance, someone I'm sure...

Hello Everyone,
Well I found this old girl on Craigslist a few weeks back tucked away in Ontario just outside of Detroit. Bought it from a wonderful family whose father bought it out of Chicago in the mid-late 60's. Per the son the last time the car was ran was around 1977. It was put away in their family barn up until recently. Considering its origin of sale, it has survived quite well, though it does require floor pan replacement and probably rocker panels. The family had purchased over the years many parts at swap meets and the car has duplicates of many items, though one piece of convertible only trim has gone missing. I had always wanted one of these since I was 12 and first saw Back to the Future. I was thrilled to find this one thinking I may not find one in unrestored condition. It will probably be winter before I can start to dig in on the car and will probably need some technical assistance from some of you who have restored one of these. The interior patterns are non-existent except for door panels and some trace amounts of vinyl. More to come....
