HH Shifter moves easily, second gear low range shifts hard, high range does not want to shift into second anymore and Low does note exist. Reverse is great

My 55 pat came with them badly rusted and had them replaced, plenty of room back there

Reverse is great but she is shifting hard again and thought that I would drain the fluid one more time. After draining overnight was only able to drain out about 6 quarts. How do you drain the entire 11 quarts from the transmission?

Bernadi If you check the 55 box in the photo archive they should be in there So many other great looking cars you sometimes forget what you are looking for.

Reattached the sheet metal stop as suggested and everything is back together. Reverse is working and she shifted fine in high range but was cranky in low range drive. Drove nicely back up to the paint shop where she exhibited her evil side Wednesday. Front fenders and hood now touched up where they left a few spots the first time around.

Figured it out...Ross, you hit it right on the money, the sheetmetal "stopper" came loose causing the damn thing to come out, got er back in by moving the plungers and am going to have to put the stopper in tighter this time. At least my pan is clean now, hopefully its going to be good.

Dropped the pan and found metal shavings and a few things loose. Will see what we have tomorrow. Thanks for your prompt replys. These old girls can quickly change from a shiny toy to a traffic hazard.

HH It does not appear to be in any gear, plan on pulling onto a car carrier flatbed. When engine running could not move shifter either
