Thanks for the pics, they were very helpful. Strangely enough, I actually like the streamline of the coupe better without the rack so for the time being I'll keep it as is. Thanks again.

Correct color code

I have been told that the French Blue colour with vermillion red wheels is color code 'Z' for 1939. I now see from this site info that the 1940 option was 'S'. My VIN plate shows manufacture date a nov 8, 1939. However registration was 1940. So my question is which color option letter would be the correct one ? Thanks

Thanks gents. Sage advice and well put. I had not really thought through the implications of the extra weight issue. Adding heavy duty springs plus having to build up my biceps to turn the wheel does of sound good to me. Thanks again.

My 120 has had skirts added. I see this a lot on the Darrins but were they also available for the club coupes?

Next, I am considering adding a side mount (if I can find one) to my 120 in order to gain more trunk space. I would appreciate comments on this idea; good idea or sacrilege? Thanks

Thanks. That would be very useful. I found an old photo of one showing the bracket without the plate on it, so almost there in terms of a fabrication.

Thanks for the description of the bracket. sounds simple enough to fabricate if I can't find one.

As for the UK size plate, well the plates on the car now are US size but with the UK registration number. these were on the car when I bought it. Probably not totally legal, but I'm not going to change them for UK sizes as I think they look great.

Whoops, I miss read his figure of 22 as 22k. It looks like the estimate necessarily has to very as no precise records were kept. Thanks for the heads up (and wake up! call) I'll have to pay more attention!
