Did you contact Hunley Acuff? HIs work is outstanding. Great turn around. He did mine for the 120. Maybe he will be able to help you with your project.

Hello All
I don't know if helps or not but I searched for this same item for my 1940 and came up empty. I finally had somebody suggest Ron Carpenter. I have had business with him previously and he was able to make a new one for me. I tried all of the usual suppliers without avail. Fred D

I don't want to hijack this thread, but if anyone is interested I can offer Upholstery info for the 1940 18XX models. It may be of assistance.

I have a 1940-120. I do not know if Hunley Acuff can do '41 Running boards. I will assume the prep work will be similar. Here is the sequence I used. I stripped the old material by hand, LABOR INTENSE, Then I had to have dies made to form new metal to replace rusted areas around at the mounting brackets and also the running board contours. I had the boards blasted then powder coated on the bottom sides. Then went to the local UPS site to have them boxed and prepped for shipping. NOT CHEAP here either, then sent to Hunley Acuff. Got them back and haven't unpacked them yet, attached is a picture of Hunley's work taken from the AACA site. It is flawless. I will see if I can post some pics to show the sequence. Fred D

Old Guy & Oz
According to Jim Hollingsworth's book: The woodgrains were used on the instrument panels and window reveals. The Carpathian Elm Burled was used only in the 180. The Mottled Aspen was the Early grain for the 110, 120, @ the 160. Sapele Mahogany Tan & Gray were introduced later in the year. That makes 6 different grain for the 1940 Packards. I did not research the part Numbers. Hope this helps Fred D

I got cost estimates that vary from $675 to $825 to have my 194-120 re-cored. That was from a few shops and two different types of cores. I still need to make up my mind.
Two places were very reputable but one local guy really jerked me around. He didn't want to tell me he had to send it out to be done. But that is another story for another time. I would assume that your location may have be reason for various pricing too. If you need to ship it the freight alone will add to the total cost. Fred D

Yes I am restoring a 1940-120. I took a bunch of pics at Hershey of a 120. I started a blog awhile back but haven't contributed lately. When I get back to it I will be posting more.
