Re: Unidentified engine noise?

I am actually still in need of a speedo, the ones I've found were the whole inst. cluster. Which I don't need because all of the other gagues work.

It seems like the parts dealers want an arm and a leg for them.

I may have to put it off for a bit though because the bushings on the support arm went bad last week. As in completly gone.

Is Imron still available? I had a Cutlass painted with Imron many years ago and it held up very well. It was painted by some of the students at a Vo-tech, and they said it was very easy to apply.

I wonder africapackard if you could see your way to posting some photos of your Packard showing the front and rear door opening at the sills area - my car has previously been restored and I think it is not correct - photos of a similar car 22nd or 23rd series Touring Sedan would allow me to restore this area correctly

Best regards meaarch (Michael)

Sounds like the lights are working properly. The front sidelights (parking lights here) only come on in the first notch.

there is no VIN in the modern sense. The serial number would be on the cowl plate, but if that's missing, use the engine number on the block

Thanks for the advice, I already tried the long needle nose way but it is too tight and they just twist so I'm going to make a tool at work. Going to try the squirty stuff today. On the same subject with the light switch pulled all the way out should the front markers (sidelights) be on or off...? mine come on with the tail lights and side body lights when pulled out to the first notch and go off again when pulled all the way out, tail light and side markers remaining on with the headlights.
