Front Licence Plate Mounting

I have noted that almost all photos of the 1940 Packards show the licence plate mounted above the front bumper on the drivers side. Mine is in the center of the front bumper and attached with Velcro!! I gotta get this fixed. Anyone have an idea where I can find a correct mounting frame? Thanks.

I see the figure 0f 28,158 was published by Packard. Interestingly, I just received a reply from the Roster Keeper athttp://www.packardclub.org/ as below:

"My Roster database for the 1940 Packard 120 shows 22 I395 club coupes, 1 of which is listed as a Deluxe model. Others may have been Deluxe models but failed to show the DE body style prefix on the VIN number. We know that at least 2,584 I395 club coupes were made for the year 1940 120 model and that the DE's were mixed in with the standard I395's.

It looks to me like his roster database is incorrect. Just before I advise him of same, I thought it wise to get confirmation! Thanks.

I have now added my 1940 Club Coupe to the register. Thanks for your help with the 'click by click' addition tutorial!

Hmmm...I followed the link to register my Packard 120 and found that she is already in the register! See: (1395) One-Twenty Club Coupe - DavidA

I bought the car from David.

So, what do I do next to register in my name?

Thanks for the welcome, looks to be an active forum!

Mine was restored up in Oregon over 3 years finishing in 2010 and then sold to a chap in Jersey, CI, UK. I just bought it last week so very exited waiting to get on the road.

Unfortunately there was something wrong with the pain job that resulted in crazing. I now have her in for a bare metal re-paint. But keeping to the same original French blue colour.

I'm not entirely sure of all the option, but the colour code was 'Z'. Heater, overdrive, kick down, crystal radio are all there and working. The fender skirts (or spats as they are called over here) were and option , but have been added. They add about 8" to the width so they have to be removed to get in and out of my garage.

Oh, almost forgot, here is the link to the video made in 2010 that sold me on the Packard:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjisKKm6WBo&list=PL9732DD5ADFD5DFAF

I also have over 200 restoration photos in my file.

Regards,
Thom

Hello all,

I'm new to this group and have a 1940 Packard 120. I am trying to find out if anyone knows how many were manufactured and how many have survived. Thanks.
