hank, the drive shafts as far as i know were all steel. as for the clips, i think they used what ever was on hand at the plant as i have seen those clips on several u-joints that they "wern't 'posed to be". the 400 you are looking for info on, how much do you remember about it? i know the location of a couple of them. maybe one of them is it? have you seen mike's 47? it's a very nice car.

i have that one on my watch list. it's smaller than what was on the dragon. she had 8" cleaners back then. i have seen them before, but they were mainly used on late 50's vettes with 2x4 set ups. so they go for Big bucks!

that tells me where to look for the codes on here. thanks! as for the slip, i doubt the one for the 56 is intact if it was even there in the first place. and that is the one i'd want to find since it's such an odd-ball car!

hey owen, i have a marlin owner's manual on e-bay i'll sell ya! lol there were several amc products i liked. but around here it's hard to find a good one to build. i kinda grew up in one. my best friend's (bub) dad and g-pa owned an amc dealership. mom had, and "bub" has now the 74 hornet wagon we went every where in.

The "Green Dragon" is a 56 clipper super/panama hardtop. it is in the registry, if you read it's story you will understand. all i need is the intake. none of the rest of a factory 2x4 setup was used on the car during it's racing era. and that era is in fact what i'm try'n to restore it to. and in fact, the set up on paul's car is almost exactly like how the dragon was set up in it's day. craig, any chance you know where he got the air cleaners? they are exactly like what was on her then. except for the crest wing nuts . i need a set of those too. already got the carbs found.

that carter pump is the exact same one as the airtex, just a different brand. i checked them both out before i bought my pump. the airtex cost me less. but yes it will work. the second hole you see is the inlet. where on our cars it would be on the other side, ford had it on the same side as the outlet. the third hole is just a blind hole. in some apps it would be used insted of the one below it.

just so you guys know, if you have not worked in the parts industry, be thoughtful before you get very irate! it's not as easy a job as most people think. i've met fred when i first belonged to the m.a.p. club in k.c. he drove max's pat to either our first or second regional meet. he is a nice enough guy. however he dose work in the parts industry. there was a time or two when we argued over something. however, it was always resolved and it was normaly a misunderstanding of some sort. i've had more trouble with kanter then anyone. but it'll happen. and by the way felpro still make gasket sets for the later straights! just ask your friendly Oreilly/packard guy!

(oops shameless toot of my own horn! lol)
