In my case as far as being a "cheapskate" my maternal ancestors came from Yorkshire England albiet 200 years ago. Nevertheless I have been told that a definition of a Yorkshireman is that he is a Scotsman with his generosity removed. That pretty much sums up my monetary policy also.

We must be related then! I'm the same way, I'd rather give you a dollar for something that's worth $100, than pay full price!

I'm diggin' the black and blue too. I think that the black will hide the window frames very well.

As for the seats, I was thinking of a pair of leather buckets, with a flow-thru console to the rear. In this console, I plan on running heater/AC vents, so the rear passengers get their share. Remember, this car is done in 2007 technology, with '56 style. This means power, agility, speed, and comfort of today's best luxury sedans. Oh, did I mention the woodgrained veneer dash?

I don't know, maybe someone could Photoshop this in some different colors to give us an idea what might look best. I'm actually thinking of doing the white/blue/dark gray color scheme. BUT, one solid color will be a lot easier to paint, and easier on my pocket book!

Most if not all of you on here know I plan on building a 4 door Caribbean, but I'm not sure how many know that this was done by dealers in the past. The only thing is with the ones I've seen, is that they didn't go as far as I plan to, ie, removing the "Patrician" script, and replacing it with "Caribbean" script in the appropriate locations on the car. (along with other numerous mods that I have in store for the old girl) My question here is, does anyone have any pics of these cars? It is my understanding that 25-30 Patricians were modified by either the factory or the dealer to include Caribbean side trim and the hood.

Beautiful car! But, I'd want to keep it that way and junk the Treadle Vac before it costs you your car. I can't stress enough that if you drive you car at all, it's an accident waiting to happen. Manual brakes are safer than that poor excuse of a master cylinder. I know I'm the minority here, since Craig dropped of the face of Packardom, but I know he'd concur with me. It's junk, it's dangerous, and I destroy every example I get my hands on. A modern dual master cylinder is so much safer than that piece of trash will ever be. Nice for a museum car that will never drive again, but dangerous for even a dirt road in the country.

What gauge are the battery cables? Anything smaller than what was stock will cause it to crank hard. Also, did you put fresh fuel in it recently, or is the old stuff from November still in there? It's possible that the gas has went bad, this newer stuff can go bad rather quickly as compared to 20 years ago.
