Wow, in good tune and with the 3 speed/OD, that might surprise a few cars moving out from a stoplight (if it has a decently low rear axle ratio to go along with that OD). Note the old school Sun tach drive box on the firewall.

Add doesn't say what size engine, but a 374 would be great . This car would be a really fun driver I bet.

Very nice! I've always thought that the '57 Clipper was the most luxurious postwar car built in South Bend.

Does it still have the blower setup on it?

I've looked at that ad several times. Beautiful looking car. But for me......while probably many will not agree......the "coil and leaf springs" part is a deal-breaker for me. Sigh.

Trevor,

Sometimes the best things take some time. Jack not only has a great reputation in the Packard community, but also in the Studebaker community.

The reason many won't touch a Packard is because they don't know the intricacies and quirks of a Packard V8. Not surprising when you consider this engine was only in production for 2 years.

Ask an engine builder what running changes were made and what S-P Service Bulletins will apply, and you will probably get a deer-in-the-headlights look.

As Jack would say, 'Your engine, your money, your choice'.

What a shame about that 400!

Very clean Clipper, too bad it doesn't have a 3speed/OD. Wonder what he considers a 'lowball' offer?

Agree with Stev's comment about an already "chunky" body made to look even chunkier with the chopped top. Thinking that a 6" section on the body in addition to the chop may have resulted in a slick looking car.

Wish I knew something about PhotoShop or similar software, to take one of the pics and 'electronically' section the car.
