Re: I like my car

This situation is familiar, especially the sucking sound coming from the gas tank - my 56 Clipper Ultramatic using
approx. 1 gallon/10 km (6,25 miles) when being a Starship.

Yes I like my car - but it`s expensive as gas is costing USD
8/gallon.

Hi,

Thank you all for your overwhelming assistance.

Ross.
As I presume you will have the easiest task, perhaps you could mail me the cup.
However I can not provide you with the diameter before next week.
I do not know the drill - but perhaps you could e-mail me - see my profile.

Hi all,

Further to my question of 8/25, I wonder if anybody has a left over dust cup to dispose of, as it otherwise seems that I have to buy a complete king pin set.

Fluid for Twin Ultramatic
Home away from home
Home away from home

Rocky46
Hello.

I have been recommended to use Dynocat Shiftmatic D3M in my
1956 Twin Ultramatic.
I do not know whether the transmission is overhauled or not,
it is possible as the rest of the car was restored in the US in early/middle 90`s
Has anybody any experience with this fluid?

I had the understanding that the flow restriction was inside the filter element itself; as on pictures you see more holes on the full flow elements.
Is there any practical difference using a full flow filter element instead of a by pass element in the Packard V8?

Hello.
Further to my request of 8/16:

I have checked different manufacturers application-look-up lists for oil filters, and found that some state that you can use either full flow - or by pass filters for the V8. Would not using a full flow filter in a by pass system reduce the oil pressure too much?
Anybody having facts around this?
