Well I could continue publication of foreign-language advertisings until the point it would all Greek to you. Just for the record, the U.S.S.R. made a determined but ultimately unsuccessful marketing effort to sell Chaikas to the world outside of the iron curtain. Perhaps they used impressing pics of Chaika's just with the intention of getting public attention for good sellers.
Quote: Guscha, does a Tshaika have solid axles with leaf springs at rear ends?... Compared to the TL-system the Chaika suspension wasn't something special. The Soviets regularly avoided a thinking beyond conventional approach, unless they entered uncharted waters. Ok, that is a classical oversimplification, because never in the human genesis had taken place a "national thinking". A mental process especially is defined as individual process. Now I have lost the thread of the conversation. front: independent, trapeze-shaped A-arm suspension, coil springs, hydraulic dampers rear: solid axle, semi-elliptic leaf springs, hydraulic telescopic dampers

... and you need tens of thousands of bodies to have a chance to amortize the cost of the stamping dies ... Dave, to understand it better I just re-examined the Packard output in 1940,1941 and 1948,1949. "Tens of thousands" would mean at least 20,000 but according to the model info very few body styles reached those quantities. Well, I don't know the quality requirements and lifetime of stamping dies, the synergy effects of mass-produced standard molded components made by Briggs, keys of payment and the distribution of costs and last but not least the break even point but "Tens of thousands" related to a prewar car could be a bit to high. Perhaps it's just a question of semantics and "Tens of" is the salt, that gives it that extra something. If so, then please don't stop to use the muffineer - I'm the king of salt shakers. Keith, Kev is right there but that doesn't make your opinion wrong. It isn't easy to compare both situations.

bkazmer,
it seems to me that the window would do it, nevertheless I know what you talk about. A photoshop user needs neither to talk to the engineer nor to the technologist, cost analyst, ecology committee, purchasing team, equal opportunities officer, management, safety engineering department, ... That is why marketing departments love Photoshop (my tools are Paint and your power of imagination).

Please find attached other Chaika foreign-language advertising campaigns (English, French, Italian, German). I believe that the last of it is of recent date, perhaps for toy cars.

Dave, taken at their own words, climate experts would have to reply that a mild local winter have nothing to do with their global warming scenario.
BTW In Germany the last two winters were record breakers too. Colder and more snow than the last twenty years. At Christmas we had supply shortages of road salt and snow pushers. --> another freezing Packard
