Whether those are touring sedans or Limousines, we can agree they are LWB cars and not the 'normal' length.

I bought my 1942 180 Limousine for $2000 and will have $3000 to get it transported, so I am in for $5000, obviously.

I think $13,000 is too high, and the market will advise him accordingly. But I am also often wrong. It just takes one passionate person to buy it at + $10,000.

I don't see it happening though. The 1941 LWB car is a nice looker too. But unless you are very wealthy with disposable income, these cars will not be getting correctly restored. I expect to drop about $80,000 into my restoration and when done, it might be worth $35,000 and even then there will only be a pool of buyers I can count on one hand. Sad but true.

So I am just not sure where these LWB folks get these prices? Price guides are worthless for this reason.

There is a fellow on the AACA Packard Buy/Sell that has a 1942 180 Limousine for sale, and I think he is north of $10,000 as well and it's in worse condition then these 2.

Lots of parts, which he added up and added to the price of the car.

The 56 400 is one I would like to have. From a low rust area, BUT again, you have a seller with a long term car, no title, and one photo, very little description (despite Cl allowing 24 photos and unlimited free text and wanting $3500.

If it is complete, with minimal rust, $2500 is the maximum a person should pay for a car that will cost $60,000 to restore right, and have a worth of $20,000 restored.

But these sellers that have these cars, and won't restore them (because they are smart and realize they don't have $40,000 to waste) still seem to want to make a modest profit.

**

The $750 1951 Patrician is spot on for price. These cars have really no upside for value once restored. This is another one you can spend $60,000 to restore and then it is worth $18,000 max when done.

But they are rarely seen in nice shape and should be fun to show and drive.

Love the LWB cars even if they aren't Customs. The seller selling those 3 Packards incl a LWB and a club sedan, $2000 is a good price. Crusher price on those is at least $1100 for all 3.

Transport costs has put an end to the old car project marketplace. Local sales only

I appreciate you adding the CL links. I think the 55 400 in Dallas looks like a decent car, if you are a restoring type.

The 2 21st series Clippers with the 356 represent such good value in an interesting car. One is close to me, as I live in Des Moines Iowa.

Caribbeandude

Can you provide any background on the LWB car from memory? Provenance on these cars is as cool as the cars themselves.

Really wanted that one (53 LWB Henney) that was in Arkansas but it was offered at the wrong time. I had a lot of cars and when I sold some to clear space, he had already parted it out and crushed it.

Which is OK, few folks are doing restorations so the cars that are not our property are subject to their owners needs.

I sent an email to this seller and placed it on my watch list.

Would it ever be correct to put Caribbean gear on a 56 senior Packard? For authenticity purposes?

Is this car white and turqouise? The lower section has yellowed?

Let the ride decide-

I saw that tough looking 56 Executive that currently has 1 bid for $200.

Appear too rough to justify a bid and $1000 transport. Still a rare car and the 2nd Executive 2 Door hardtop to pop up in ebay in one week.

The other one ended with a Buy It Now of $2695 and I believe that's a good price.

Yes the Clippers advanced and jumped the 60S, so it was a bit too late for what LeBaron did, a copy. Still, it is a spectacular looking car, just instantly dated and a copy.

I am in the process of trying to purchase both a 1942 180 and a 1946 Clipper. They are like night and day, separated by a war.
