The Packard Club (PAC) Directory shows 53 1958 Packard Hawks registered. Of course there could be more of them in existence owned by individuals not affiliated with the PAC.

The 1935-1941 Master Parts list shows the 17th Series Super Eight Model 1703-3A-5 exhaust manifold assembly as part number 334552, not a match for the 1937. The '40 and '41's carry different part numbers so they're not directly interchangeable either. Even the manifold gasket sets carry different part numbers from year to year. It seems that only a 1939 manifold will fit a 1939 engine.

By the insert roof and the visor above the windshield I would say its a Seventh Series or 1930 model, probably a 726 five passenger sedan.

Packards often had a spacer mounted between the pump body and the engine crankcase or block like the attached photo of my 1933 1002 Eight shows. The spacer is 3/8 inch thick. Thus the need for 2 gaskets. My 1954 Convertible with the 359 engine does not have a spacer so I'm not sure when Packard stopped using them. The kit you have probably would fit pumps from several years so 2 gaskets are supplied.

Agreeing with Ross, the original design oil filter is among the easiest and cleanest of filters to replace. The elements are readily available from NAPA. Their filter number is 1080 and probably other manufacturers still make them also.

With the braking system thoroughly checked and no problem found, I would next check the kingpins. The 1937 120 I owned developed a pretty severe pull when braking that was usually to the left, just sometimes to the right. It turned out to be worn kingpins.

On my 1954 Convertible it is fastened by a 3/8 diameter bolt with a 9/16 hex head, about 1 1/4 inches long. The nut is placed on the outside. The picture is of the right side.

Judging by the roofline, the Richmond 1929 626 is actually a 1930 726.
