50 Deluxe horn

The horn on the driver side stopped working. Passenger side horn is ok. Several questions: can the horn be opened up? repaired? are kits available? Comments welcome.

I found out the Kanter engine rebuild kit I bought has stainless steel exhaust valves, as well as stainless steel seats. Is that a good combination?

Thanks for responding. My takeaway from all of this is rebuild with stainless steel exhaust valves and hardened valve seats. Is that about the long and short of it?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the Motor Medic Lead Substitute I've been using was a waste of time, money, and shelf space.

I am in the process of having the engine of my 50 Deluxe rebuilt. What is it about the original engines that requires leaded gas/what can I do during the rebuild to make the use of leaded gas no longer necessary?

What is the name of the Bob Neal book you are referring to? It sounds like a good reference to have. Thx

Thanks for the info. But I'm confused (common occurrence). If the number on the build slip is the sequence number, what does the 47522 number on the patent plate (mine is 2362-5-47522) represent? I understood it to be the sequential production number. Does sequence number mean something different than sequential production number?

Also, is the patent plate number considered by most to be the VIN?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip and the other responses. Between the black light and a really bright flashlight at an angle, I was able to make out all of the build slip info. It reads "2362 C 13614 OD OB WSW HE 69..". Along with the C, OD, OB, and HE already discussed, I'm guessing the WSW means white sidewall tires and 69 is the trim code for tan striped broadcloth - which is what my car has. Can anyone tell me what the 13614 stands for?
