Is that a copper mesh fuel filter element? If ceramic, I'd say he has one heck of a rusty gas tank, no?

Absolutely gorgeous car, though. As stated above, if I could have any model Packard, that'd be it.

And have you replaced the battery cables yet, as several wise folks here have suggested in your other threads?

RE: paint recommendations. POR-15. The literature even recommends painting over light rust! Check it out.

Well Hans, I'm not sure why wiser men than I haven't chimed in yet, but since they haven't, I'll throw two cents. I can't imagine how you have a main bearing issue with 37 psi. Certainly not bad enough to hear. Perhaps the offending cylinder is "dead", and that's why pulling the plug wire didn't change the sound? Or perhaps the knock is coming from the valve train or a water pump bearing?

Looks good! What is the program that you're using to keep track of p/n's and expenses? The "build.jpg" picture? Is it just excel?

Ed B, would you mind posting a picture from the rear of the tractor? Have the clutch/brake/throttle been converted to hand controls, or is there a seat back there I'm not seeing?

Thanks O_D! I'll give that a try; funny how we forget the basics!
