Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, any inked info on the patent plate is gone. And the only readable info on the final assembly build slip is "2362 C 13614 OD", then possIbly "OB...". The remaining 80% of slip has turned black, obscuring any additional information. Is there any other way to determine the paint scheme and trim code numbers?

Please advise how to edit the info on the owner's registry. Also, if you can tell me how to locate the interior code and paint code numbers for my Packard, I'll add it to the registry. Thanks.

Thanks, guys. From what little work I've done under the dash, I can relate to what you're saying about cramped work space and body positioning. Is there a photo available of the loom all laid out before it is installed? I'd like to get an idea of the extent of it.

Thanks for the info.

Can you tell me how much disassembly is involved in replacing the dash wiring harness? I'm wondering if the job requires removal of all/most of the equipment behind the dash or if it is possible to do the job with the components in place.

As long as we're at it, where does the wire in the connection circled in orange come from in the attached picture and what is it powering? Thanks.

Should there be any sort of gasket between the license plate light lens and the chrome frame around it? I have the rubber piece between the entire assembly and the bumper, but nothing currently between the glass lens and the frame holding it in. Seems like something should be there to keep water from seeping in around the glass and into the small "pan" under the light bulb.

Map light bulb replacement

The map lights on my 50 Deluxe 8 are not working. I thought the easiest place to start would be to check/replace the bulbs. But it's not apparent to me how to open the map light units to get to the bulbs. The front face of the assembly appears to be crimped in 3 places to attach it to the back. A cylindrical piece projecting out of the back can be rotated, but it doesn't unscrew and doesn't feel like it is meant to pull apart. I am also hesitant to try to un-crimp the back from the front for fear of permanently damaging the assembly. Unscrewing the hemispherical lens also doesn't work. Suggestions/advice welcome!
