I had the same problem after I had the tank on my 48 boiled out and coated. There is metal disk that seals the seal the vent-it was sealed to the top and blocked the vent. I solved the problem by drilling a 3/16 th hole through the top of the round vent housing and the disk. I then soldered a Penney over the cleaned metal with a soldering iron. "Important to not use open flame" .

remove top cover, park light doors, top bars between grill and park light-two bolts from center grill side and one under fender side and six bolts that hold center grill.

you can remove the bolts that hold the bottom splash, then the four bumper to frame bolts and take the bumper and lower pan as a unit. remove park light doors, top splash pan. at this point if u just want room to remove the center grill to get to the cam u need to remove the right and left top bars-one bolt fender side and two on the grill side. next the six bolts that hold the center section. hope this helps. dell

i have not been able to find any service letters or other information on the horns on my latest project. so far i have taken one apart, cleaned, painted and reassembled but have not tried to adj. it. has anyone found any repair instruction or figured out how to adj. them. thanks for your help dell

i have some new steele hood pads, 30-0222-42 for my 33. i only had one old one on the car that was just a blob of rubber. the new ones have a high side and low side, which side goes in toward the engine-high or low. the old one was on top of the bracket, is that correct? thanks for the help dell
