thanks Owen_Dyneto; the parts book lists 207822, 207646, 7 for the 33 super eight as only for the one year. i will see how long it is and then know what i need to look for. dell

still learning about my 1003,i was preparing to repaint the head and after wire brushing and sanding the rust and old paint i found several welded repairs. i plan to mag the head to see if i find any more cracks, and go from there. my question is how to tell a standard and super head apart. this is a question that Owen_Dyneto or Bruce might have an answer. i know the three heads for the parts book are different. thanks dell

hi mal; hope things are going well for you down under. i was looking at the pictures of the fossil and noted in jpg(114.71kb) that the linkage with the spring on it for the accelerator pump is upside down. there is a small locking screw inside the big screw. have fun with the packards. jon

copper line goes to a plate under the carburetor, vacuum does the work to meter oil to the engine.

Dell
wesley; if you get fuel out the vent, you have a bad diaphragm more them likely. this new gas with the alcohol rots the old rubber. i would take the pump apart and see what is going on. dell

Re: spring for adjuster on drivers seat-33,1003

Dell
O-D and PackardBarry; thanks for taking the time to look. i did get the handle out today, was able to unscrew the two pins, one locks the seat and the other appears to hold the the shaft in as it is up by the handle. also the rear of the shaft has a hole for a pin which is missing and it appears to lock the shaft in a round bearing of some type at the rear of the frame. it will be lots of fun to try and get a pin in the hole. it looks like a spring connects the two pins as they are grooved, i guess to hold the shaft in a lock slot. thanks dell

to all the 33-34 guys; i have got the drivers seat to move after soaking all the parts with oil. i have been trying to re-move the handle to have it re-plated, no joy as yet. also would one of you 33-34 owners be so kind as to look and see what the spring look like and how it hooks up. i assume that it has a spring to help move the seat foreword. but i have been wrong several time before. thanks dell
