I'd appreciate in-put from knowledgeable forum members regarding this '35 Packard 120 currently listed at a starting price of $15,000.

I'm not worried about. And, yes, I know it is out of my price range, but is a person not allowed to ask for the sake of asking?

I'm almost to the point where I can no longer drive, so it's really all a moot point anyway. Besides, I like to interact with other forum members--especially the ones who aren't sarcastic.

Kind regards

What I think is a nice Packard. Any idea how high the bidding might go? In a retail setting, what might it sell for?

kind regards

Can restoration compromise value of a car?

An original 1974 Triumph in tolerable condition was brought in for a full-on-restoration and new body color to Fantom Works. The owner of the car did not like the original color of the car and was dead set on a new color of his choice. The host of the show discouraged the car's owner from the complete restoration and new body color saying that the car would appreciate in value if left as is, buffing up the original paint job, reconditioning the leather interior, and completely servicing all the mechanical aspects of the car to make it reliable and safe. Reluctantly, the car's owner agreed.

Given the attitude and philosophy of the show's host, it appears best, condition permitting, to leave a car original, as opposed to complete restoration.

Feedback on observation: rarity does not equate with value

The host of the show Fantom Works made the observation that just because a car is rare does not necessarily mean that it is valuable.

Are there any Packards that can be classified as such?

Kind regards

Just saw an episode of American Pickers in which they purchased a '29 Packard coupe for $20,000.

Perhaps another forum member is familiar with the episode and car.

kind regards,

PS: For those of you who lost loved ones in a war, my best to you and your families on Memorial Day and for the ultimate sacrifice. My late father and his brother were in WW II. Sadly, my uncle didn't come home.

My late father was England and was in the RAF during WW II. He flew on an Avro Lancaster which used that Packard engine.

Three compartment tank on early cars
#68

On American Pickers the guys came across a three-compartment take that attached to the running board of early cars. The compartments contained oil, water, and gasoline, because gas stations were few and far in-between.

Did early Packards come equipped with a three tank compartment?

Kind regards,

I know this off topic, but I thought forum members might like seeing this pic of Eddie Cantor with his Locomobile.

Pack car designs that were rejected

I don't know why I persist in participating in this forum with the fore-knowledge that someone is going to insult and/or belittle me, but I do enjoy the few civil responses I get.

I was wondering if there are extant images of prospective Packard car designs that were considered for production but rejected for one reason or another?

kind regards,
Garrett Meadows
